2024 Cadillac Celestiq: Pricing, Range, Rumors, and More

The 2024 Cadillac Celestiq is creating a buzz in the electric vehicle (EV) world due to its unique approach to luxury and customization. While many EV manufacturers are focused on affordability, Cadillac is going in the opposite direction with the Celestiq, catering to customers who are willing to spend a significant amount for a truly special vehicle.

Design-wise, the Celestiq is a luxury hatchback sedan that stands out from the crowd. It takes inspiration from previous-generation Cadillac models but features a distinctive long curved line on the top of the car and unique rear lighting. The interior is equally luxurious, with accent lighting throughout, a massive electrochromic sunroof, and plush, soft-touch leather seats.

When it comes to pricing, Cadillac has yet to announce specific details, but they have hinted that the Celestiq will cost more than $300,000. This price tag makes it clear that the Celestiq is not intended for the mass market but rather for those who seek exclusivity and can afford to pay a premium for it. With customization options being a key focus, each Celestiq may vary in price, depending on the desired personalizations.

The Cadillac Celestiq is set to be released as a 2024 model, with production starting in December 2023. This suggests that deliveries could begin around January 2024. Interested buyers can already join the waitlist to secure their place in line.

Customizability is at the heart of the Celestiq, even extending to its colors and finishes. Customers will work closely with Cadillac’s designers to create a one-of-a-kind Celestiq, with countless options for colors and other aesthetic elements.

In terms of charging speed and range, the Celestiq will benefit from General Motors’ Ultium platform, which it shares with other EVs like the Hummer EV and Cadillac Lyriq. The Celestiq is expected to offer around 300 miles of range on a single charge and the ability to charge at up to 200 kilowatts at a DC fast charger. This means it can gain approximately 78 miles of range in just 10 minutes of charging.

When it comes to performance, the Celestiq offers a dual-motor, all-wheel drive configuration with 600 horsepower. This powertrain enables the car to go from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 3.8 seconds, providing an exciting driving experience.

In terms of tech features, the Celestiq aims to deliver a comfortable and high-tech driving experience. The car will offer four climate zones, allowing each passenger to control their own comfort settings. The interior will feature a massive 55-inch display for the digital instrument cluster and infotainment, similar to the Mercedes Hyperscreen. Rear passengers will have their own 12.6-inch screens for entertainment. Additionally, the Celestiq boasts a 38-speaker AKG Studio Reference stereo system for a premium audio experience.

While the Celestiq promises a luxurious and technologically advanced experience, it won’t qualify for the federal EV tax credit due to its high price tag. The federal EV tax credit has a limit of $55,000 for sedans, so the Celestiq does not meet the criteria.

In conclusion, the upcoming Cadillac Celestiq is set to be an exceptional and highly customizable electric luxury car. With its striking design, top-notch features, and handcrafted build to order approach, the Celestiq will undoubtedly turn heads. While its price point may be out of reach for most, those who can afford it will have the opportunity to own a truly bespoke and exclusive vehicle.
