Azman and Aero airlines have pledged to ensure that Nigerian pilgrims scheduled to go on hajj to Saudi Arabia in 2023 are airlifted in a timely and efficient manner. The two airlines are amongst five airline service providers contracted by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to transport pilgrims to and from Saudi Arabia. Azman General Manager, Alhaji Nuruddeen Aliyu, confirmed that an additional aircraft would be added to its fleet for the upcoming operation, while Aero Contractors has already airlifted 3,223 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia, and hopes to complete its allocation of 8,033 pilgrims by June 12th.
Last year, Azman experienced issues over slots and documentation at the Saudi end, which resulted in delays to the pilgrimage. Nevertheless, Aliyu has expressed satisfaction with the behavior and attitude of the Kaduna pilgrims this year, and praised NAHCON for ensuring a smooth operation so far. Meanwhile, Aero Contractors are aiming to finish their operations before the Jeddah International Airport closes on June 26th.
This news will reassure those Nigerian pilgrims preparing to travel for hajj next year, as the timely and safe transportation of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia is crucial. Additionally, the commitment of the airlines to addressing any potential issues this time around is commendable and demonstrates their dedication to providing a high-quality service.
