YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A $19,000 grant from the Ohio History Connection has been presented to the Mahoning Valley Historical Society to aid in the relocation of over 6,800 artifacts to the newly acquired former IBM Building. The grant will support the consolidation of the society’s vast collection into the new storage space, accommodating items ranging from household furnishings to business tools that reflect the history of the Mahoning Valley. Megan Wood, Executive Director of OHC, emphasized the importance of funding for such projects that preserve history, noting the difficulty in securing financial support for these endeavors. The funding will cover a significant portion of the costs associated with this phase of the relocation project, which aims to enhance storage and exhibit capabilities for the historical society.
