A 19-year-old from Huddersfield has denied double murder charges during a plea and trial preparation hearing at Bradford Crown Court. Rashane Douglas, of Jade Place, appeared before Judge Jonathan Rose, dressed in a dark-colored tracksuit, and pleaded not guilty to five charges. The charges include the murders of Joshua Clark, 21, and Haidar Shah, 19, on October 1. Douglas also denied charges of attempted murder and wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm pertaining to a third individual injured on the same night. Furthermore, Douglas denied having a knife in Commercial Street. The trial, expected to last over 10 days, has been scheduled to begin on February 26, with Douglas remanded in custody until then, as per Judge Rose’s order.
