Apple is gearing up for a major upgrade to its iPad Pro lineup next year, with the introduction of OLED displays and a new M3 chip based on TSMC’s 3nm process. The tech giant has been using similar designs for its iPad Pro models for years, but it seems that change is on the horizon.

According to reports, Apple is set to launch two new models of the iPad Pro in 2023: one with an 11.1-inch display and another with a 13-inch display. Currently, the iPad Pro is available in 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes, with only the larger variant sporting a mini-LED display. However, both of the new iPad Pro models next year will feature OLED panels.

The move to OLED displays brings numerous benefits to users. OLED displays are known for their power efficiency and superior color accuracy, particularly when it comes to deeper blacks. This will greatly enhance the user experience, especially for those who primarily use their iPad Pro for media consumption and content creation. Additionally, the low power consumption of OLED displays could result in improved battery life for the iPad Pro, which is always a welcome upgrade.

In addition to the display technology, Apple is also planning to introduce a new M3 chip based on TSMC’s 3nm process. This new chip is expected to deliver even better performance and energy efficiency compared to its predecessor, the M2 chip. With the combination of the OLED display and the new M3 chip, users can look forward to a significant boost in performance, making the iPad Pro a powerhouse for productivity and entertainment.

While Apple is embracing OLED displays for its iPad Pro lineup, the company is also working on another display technology for future products: microLED. However, it seems that microLED displays won’t make their debut until 2026, starting with the Apple Watch Ultra. From there, the company plans to expand the use of microLED displays to other devices such as the iPhone, iPad, and MacBook.

Overall, Apple’s upcoming iPad Pro upgrade is shaping up to be a game-changer for users. The introduction of OLED displays and the new M3 chip will undoubtedly deliver a more immersive visual experience and improved performance. While we eagerly await the official launch, it’s clear that Apple is focused on pushing the boundaries of innovation in the tablet market and providing users with the best technology available.
