The encounter between security forces and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Bijapur has resulted in the death of ten Naxalites, including a woman. The operation, led by a team comprising DRG, CRPF, STF, and Cobra Jawans, took place under the Gangloor police station of Bijapur district. So far, ten bodies, including that of a female Naxalite, have been recovered, along with weapons. The search operation is still ongoing to identify the deceased and retrieve any additional arms. The joint forces involved in the operation recovered a substantial amount of weaponry, including an LMG, a .303 rifle, a 12 bore, BGL launchers, shells, and other ammunition. The encounter followed the killing of three villagers by Naxalites, prompting a swift response from security forces. This incident took place at Lendra village in Bijapur, with operations initiated on Monday night and culminating in the encounter on Tuesday morning. The region where this encounter occurred falls within the Bastar Lok Sabha constituency, scheduled for elections on April 19.
