1 Person Killed, 4 Wounded in Las Vegas Shooting: Attacker Still at Large, US
LOS ANGELES — Tragedy struck in Las Vegas on Friday as one person lost their life and four others sustained injuries in a shooting incident near Charleston and Honolulu Street. Responding to the scene at 5:34 p.m. local time, officers discovered multiple gunshot victims in a homeless encampment with LVMPD Lieutenant Jason Johansson reporting, “Officers rendered immediate medical aid until all five victims could be transported to the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.” Regrettably, one man in his 50s succumbed to his injuries, while three men in their 30s are currently receiving treatment, with two in stable condition and another in critical condition.
Contrary to recent cases in Los Angeles involving fatal shootings of homeless individuals, the LVMPD clarified that the Las Vegas incident is unrelated. In Los Angeles, three homeless people were fatally shot this week, raising concerns of a potential serial killer targeting individuals sleeping alone on sidewalks or alleys.
