The University of Delhi is a prestigious institution, offering courses in tune with the New Education Policy. The recent 1014th Academic Council meeting saw a unanimous approval of removing the syllabus dedicated to the national poet of Pakistan, Allama Iqbal, making way for the focus on the teachings of national heroes. The meeting also included approval of establishment of the Tribal Studies Center, and including the works of Bhimrao Ambedkar, Mahatma Gandhi, and Swami Vivekananda in the syllabus.
