TMC national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate for his alleged involvement in school recruitment and coal pilferage scams. This summons comes after his wife, Rujira Banerjee, was questioned earlier in the day. Abhishek alleged that the timing of the summon was not coincidental, as his wife had just left the ED offices. CM Mamata Banerjee spoke about justice and evidence and perhaps prosecuting for defamation, saying that these central agencies were not servants of a political party but of the country.
