The Indian Ministry of Corporate Affairs is investigating Hero MotoCorp for alleged corporate governance issues and concerns over the true ownership of linked companies. The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation plans to recover Rs 2.21 crore in unpaid taxes from six telecom providers and other defaulters in various sectors. The corporation has also launched a tax settlement scheme and an advance property tax window, with impressive results. Reliance Communications is one of the six firms with outstanding tax dues. The AMC has issued final notices to companies in hospitality, IT, finance, construction, and retail sectors and has withheld permits until outstanding debts are paid.
