Demand for compensation from the Tamil Nadu government for crop loss due to summer rains has been raised by Edappadi K. Palaniswami. The former Chief Minister and General Secretary of AIADMK has urged for immediate action in compensating farmers whose crops suffered damage due to the rains. He has criticized the state Agriculture Minister for only inspecting one area and has called on authorities to send officials to areas that have suffered extensive crop damage. This comes at a time when farmers in Tamil Nadu have been struggling to cope with the impact of natural calamities on their crops.
