Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Janata Dal (United) party, has recently come out against the proposed new parliament building. Kumar believes the existing building is a symbol of India's past and questions why the BJP did not push for the extension of the Bihar Legislature when they were in coalition. His thoughts on the Niti Aayog meeting and the lack of response from the Centre also provide insight into the issues happening in India. Thus, it begs the question of whether a new parliament building is necessary or not.
