MGM’s ‘Sankalp’ Initiative in Indore to Prevent Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Anaemia

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical College in Indore and Sankalp India Foundation (SIF) have collaborated on a pioneering screening program that detects haemoglobin disorders in pregnant women to prevent severe conditions in newborns. The project, which tests both mothers and fathers in the first trimester, is supported by SIF's online application 'Stopthal,' and fully funded by the foundation. Dr Sanjay Dixit of MGM Medical College called the initiative a vital step in disease prevention and management.
