Flats Allotted, Demolition Begins at Bhoomiheen Camp in Delhi
The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has started a phased demolition drive at Bhoomiheen Camp to expand housing capacity and essential facilities for eligible JJ dwellers. 1,862 JJ dwellers have been assigned flats at A-14, Kalkaji Extension, with 1,200 already relocated. The rehabilitation of eligible JJ dwellers of adjoining JJ colonies in an in-situ style is next, and the demolition was done after giving due notice. The effort is key to improving livelihoods of relocating individuals and the city's disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
