Anna University Suspends Admissions for Tamil and English Medium Engineering Programs Temporarily

Anna University is one of India's leading educational institutions, offering higher education in engineering, technology and related fields. With 203 affiliated colleges and 8 campuses throughout Tamil Nadu, the university has suspended admissions to its Bachelor of Engineering courses in Civil and Mechanical engineering for the 2023-24 academic year. BJP leader K Annamalai took to Twitter to express his disagreement with step in contradiction to PM Narendra Modi's emphasis on regional language education. The university cites low enrollment last year as the cause of suspension.
