Kansas courts are recovering from a debilitating cyberattack, with the restoration of case management systems underway. Public access to court documents will be gradually restored as counties bring their systems back online. The attack, classified as a foreign cyberattack, led to the shutdown of the court's systems. Despite progress, there is still work to be done. The cyberattack affected all but one of Kansas' counties, and cybersecurity weaknesses have been found in other state agencies. The Court of Appeals and Supreme Court will restore their systems once the district courts are operational.
