Veteran Telugu Actor Chandra Mohan Passes Away at 82, Leaving Film Industry in Mourning
Renowned Telugu actor Chandra Mohan breathed his last on Saturday at the age of 82, sending shockwaves across the film industry. The actor, who started his journey in the Telugu film industry with the movie Rangula Ratnam in 1966, had an illustrious career spanning five decades, during which he appeared in over 900 films. However, he succumbed to a cardiac arrest in Hyderabad, where he was undergoing treatment for heart-related ailments.
Chandra Mohan’s demise occurred around 9:45 AM in the presence of his family members at the Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad. Survived by his wife, Jalandhara, and two daughters, the late actor will receive his final rites on Monday, November 13, in his hometown, Hyderabad.
The sad news was confirmed by a family member who disclosed that Chandra Mohan had been battling health issues due to his advanced age. Upon hearing of the veteran actor’s passing, several personalities from the Telugu film industry expressed their grief and paid heartfelt tributes.

Actor Sai Dharam Tej also expressed his sympathies on the loss of the esteemed actor.

Chandra Mohan’s career spanned fifty years, starting with Rangula Ratnam in 1966. Throughout his extensive filmography, he appeared in over 900 films and received two Nandi Awards and Filmfare awards for his impeccable performances. The late actor was also closely related to the acclaimed director and Dadasaheb Phalke Award winner K Viswanath, as well as the legendary singer SP Balasubramaniam.
