Tragic Fire at Madurai Railway Station Claims Lives of Pilgrims
Lucknow, Aug 27 (PTI) – In a devastating incident at Madurai Railway Station, nine pilgrims tragically lost their lives due to a fire inside a stationary train compartment. The bodies of the deceased pilgrims were transported from Chennai back to their respective districts for the last rites.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak personally received the bodies of Manoharman Agarwal (81) and her granddaughter Himani Bansal (22) at the Chowdhury Charan Singh airport in Lucknow. Both victims hailed from Lucknow and their final rites were carried out at the Gulala Ghat.
Expressing condolences over the unfortunate loss, Pathak sympathized with the families affected by this tragic incident. All of the victims hailed from Uttar Pradesh and perished in the incident that took place at Madurai railway yard on August 26.
The devastating fire has left the entire nation mourning the loss and questioning the safety measures in place at railway stations. As investigations into the incident begin, it is crucial to analyze the incident from different perspectives.
