Tamarac Invites Community to Annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park
Tamarac, a city in Florida, is all set to host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park. This year, after a renovation period of almost two years, the ceremony will take place at the park for the first time since 2021. The City of Tamarac is extending a warm invitation to the community to come and honor the patriotism, service, and sacrifice of our nation’s veterans on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 10:30 a.m.
The event will commence with a massing of colors led by the Tamarac Fire Rescue Honor Guard. It will feature several moving performances to pay tribute to the veterans. Jay Koutcher from the Tamarac Veterans Affairs Committee will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, while the national anthem will be sung by vocalist Chantal Deshaies. The Miamians will perform the powerful Armed Forces Salute, and the Celtic Bagpipe Team will play the touching melody of Amazing Grace. Furthermore, a wreath-laying ceremony will honor the fallen American military heroes, showing our gratitude and respect for their sacrifices.
A special highlight of the program will be the keynote address delivered by Dan Gately, a retired Navy Lieutenant Commander. Gately has an impressive military background, having completed two deployments reporting to the Raptors of Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron 71. He has served in various capacities on multiple vessels, including the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis, destroyer USS Sampson, and cruiser USS Antietam. Attendees can look forward to gaining valuable insights from his experiences and perspective.
After the ceremony, Tamarac’s Mayor, Commissioners, and staff will officially unveil the park’s new amenities with a ribbon-cutting. The renovations have brought about exciting additions such as parking lot and restroom installations, further enhancing the facilities and accessibility of the park.
