Stars of the hit show Strictly Come Dancing have had their pay revealed, with judges accepting a modest 3-5% rise. The professionals are reportedly paid between £35,000-£50,000 for their appearance on the show. If they are also asked to perform on the live tour, they can earn an additional £35,000. On the other hand, the famous contestants are paid a flat fee, with a minimum of £25,000 even if they leave in the first week. The pay increases as they progress in the competition, with the winner receiving a substantial £100,000.
Amid reports of the judges’ pay row, it has been alleged that Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke were seeking an 11% salary increase. However, it appears they have settled for a more modest 3-5% rise. At present, Shirley is said to earn £500,000, Motsi and Craig make £200,000, and Anton receives £180,000. The BBC declined to comment on the matter.
The professional dancers on the show have reportedly criticized the judges for demanding a significant pay rise. While the dancers are paid flat fees of around £35,000 for their work, the judges are seeking a higher income. This has led the dancers to consider requesting a pay rise of their own. The BBC is said to be displeased with the request, especially considering the dancers’ intense training and the long hours they put into the show.
Despite negotiations and pay disputes, Strictly Come Dancing remains one of the most popular shows on television. The 21st series is set to air this autumn, and fans are eagerly awaiting the return of the beloved dance competition.
