Spectacular Concert Delights Audience at Zafar Music and Theatre Festival on Azerbaijan’s Victory Day
A spectacular concert recently took place at the Hall of Chamber and Organ Music as part of the Zafar Music and Theatre Festival. The festival, organized by the Culture Ministry, was a celebration of Azerbaijan’s Victory Day, which commemorates the country’s success in the 44-day Patriotic War. The concert captivated the audience with its exceptional performances.
Renowned soloists Tural Aghasiyev and Anton Verstandt, along with laureates of republican and international competitions Nigar Ismailova, Nasiba Badalbayli, Adil Bakhishli, Safura Aslanova, and Intigam Allahverdiyev, took the stage to enchant the crowd. They showcased the musical genius of Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Javanshir Guliyev, Fikret Amirov, Shahin Musaoglu, Aydin Agasiyev, Elnara Dadasheva, Rizvan Sadirkhanov, Agshin Alizadeh, Elza Ibragimova, Vasif Adygezalov, Tofig Guliyev, Muslim Magomayev, and Gara Garayev.
Accompanied by the talented Narmin Rzayeva and Elkhan Niftiyev, these musicians showcased their incredible artistry and left the audience in awe. The Azerbaijan State Choir, led by People’s Artist Gulbaji Imanova, also gave a remarkable performance during the evening.
It is worth mentioning that the Zafar Music and Theatre Festival extends until November 8. In the following days, a series of events will be held in various cultural centers across Ganja and Sumgayit cities, Ismayilli, Bilasuvar, Sabirabad, Khachmaz districts, as well as Baku city, to commemorate the historic victory.
The festival serves as a testament to the end of the 30-year conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Azerbaijan’s Garabagh region. The war, which lasted for 44 days, resulted in a peace agreement brokered by Russia and signed on November 10 by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Russia, and Armenia. The signing of this agreement brought an end to the occupation of the Garabagh region and the seven adjacent districts by Armenian armed forces.
For over three decades, Armenia had consistently defied UN Security Council resolutions, which demanded the withdrawal of Armenian troops, impeding any resolution to the conflict. Therefore, the conclusion of the war and the subsequent peace agreement were significant milestones in the region’s history.
As the Zafar Music and Theatre Festival continues to commemorate Azerbaijan’s Victory Day, it offers a platform for artists and musicians to showcase their talents and bring joy to the hearts of audiences. Through the power of music, this celebration of victory unites people from different backgrounds and reminds us of the triumph over adversity.
