Singer Tinashe seeks restraining order against stalker who showed up at her home multiple times
Singer, dancer, and actress Tinashe has filed for a restraining order against a man she claims has been stalking her recently. The man allegedly showed up at her house multiple times, including three times in one day. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Tinashe says the stalking started when she was randomly tagged on Instagram by a man named Ramon Oppikofer, whom she has never met.
The situation escalated when the man showed up uninvited at her brother’s private birthday party on October 27. Tinashe described how he handed her a hotel room key, to which she promptly returned, trying to laugh it off. The fear for her safety grew when he appeared outside her Los Angeles home on November 1, lurking up and down the street. Although the police were called, the man had already left by the time they arrived.
Tinashe claims that the man returned the next day, ringing her doorbell and even attempting to break into her house. Frightened for her life, she locked herself in a safe area of her home while the man tried to open the door. Eventually, the man was confronted by music studio workers and left the scene. Despite being arrested afterward, he continued to lurk outside the property, leading to his subsequent release.
In light of these events, Tinashe has filed for a restraining order to protect herself from the stalker. With a sixth studio album released just two months ago, Tinashe has been dealing with personal drama alongside her professional achievements. This is not the first time that she has felt the need to file for a restraining order after encountering an obsessed fan. Back in 2017, she obtained a restraining order against a man who traveled from Boston to Los Angeles because he thought they were married.
Tinashe’s request for a restraining order is supported by her father and the man’s own father, who emphasized his son’s inability to distinguish reality from fantasy. The court had granted her previous request for a restraining order, requiring the fan to stay at least 100 yards away from her and her parents.
In seeking court-ordered protection, Tinashe hopes to prevent her stalker from approaching her again, as she fears for her safety. As she deals with the legal process, Tinashe continues to navigate her music career, with her latest album, BB/Ang3l, released in September.
Stalking incidents like this highlight the need for stronger measures to protect individuals from obsessed fans. It is crucial for celebrities and public figures to have the necessary legal recourse to ensure their safety and well-being.
