CAG Employee Found Dead in Hotel Room: Police Launch Investigation
In a shocking incident, the lifeless body of a CAG employee was discovered in a hotel room, prompting the police to begin a thorough investigation. Authorities were alerted after hotel staff noticed that the occupant had not responded to repeated knocks, raising concerns about their well-being.
According to Sanjay Kumar Sain, the deputy commissioner of police (Central), the police team, accompanied by firefighters, entered the room on Friday evening and made the chilling discovery. As of now, no evidence of foul play has been found, and an inquiry under CrPC section 174 has been initiated.
While the police have identified the victim as an employee of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), the exact position within the organization has not been disclosed. However, the victim’s brother-in-law revealed that he worked as an auditor for the CAG and had previously spent 15 years in the Indian Air Force.
The brother-in-law further shared that the victim had left his residence in RK Puram on Friday morning, expressing his intentions to return by afternoon and take the family for Diwali shopping. It came as a profound shock when they were informed by the police that his life had come to a tragic end in a hotel room later that evening.
According to officials, the victim had checked into the hotel at noon and was scheduled to check out by 9 PM on the same day. When he failed to respond to repeated attempts to contact him in the evening, hotel staff notified the police.
As the investigation unfolds, the police will leave no stone unturned in determining the cause of this untimely demise. While no signs of foul play have emerged thus far, they will thoroughly examine all aspects before reaching a conclusion.
